About Me

From Fixing Houses to Fixing Health

I’m Bob, but you might know me as KumoBob. My career began in general contracting, where I spent years diagnosing and repairing everything from leaky pipes to faulty wiring. I loved the puzzle of taking something broken and making it work again.

A Passion for Health

That problem-solving instinct led me to my next passion: health. After a personal journey to restore my wellbeing, I dove deep into systems biology and the microbiome. I’ve since authored several books on nutrition and longevity, sharing the science I’ve studied to help others feel their best.

The Meaning of "Kumo 雲ボブ "

"Kumo" is Japanese for "cloud." I chose it because of my love for the Ichimoku trading system, which uses "clouds" as a key indicator. I’ve always enjoyed coding—whether I was writing ThinkOrSwim scripts with friends or working with David Elliot’s First Wave team. I’m back to sharing my code because I miss the joy of open source collaboration.

Life's a Game

Outside of work, I'm in the garden, experimenting with new ideas, or at the ping pong table. I'm still improving my game, just like I'm always refining my health habits and coding skills. Curious, practical, and always learning.
